Marking completion

Aug 09, 2017

I built a SCORM course that is intended for two target audiences. Target group 1 have to complete scene 1 and 2 (Scene 2 has graded questions). Target group 2 have to complete scene 1 and 3 (This group doesn't have to answer the quiz in scene 2) I want to mark both of them complete. LMS only marks the target group 1 as complete and not the target group 2 since they haven't completed the quiz in scene 2. How do I fix this.

Hey Surya,

The SCORM output from Storyline reports completion one of two ways: Results slide or total number of slides viewed.

With a somewhat adaptive design having two target groups, your design has to take into account what Storyline can do and then design to fit.

Without building a prototype test, my first approach would be to use multiple results slides. Regardless if there's an associated quiz or not you can use a Blank results slide to "push" the results.

Here's a thought...

Add a blank results slide to target group 2. Add a blank results slide into a final scene (4) and design the slide to look like a Summary if you don't want actual results shown.

When users complete Scene 2, push the user to the summary slide in Scene 4. For target group 2 at the end of Scene 3, push the user to the summary slide in Scene 4. On that final last results slide set the properties to calculate both results slides. When you publish, set the completion to that last results slide.

Rationale: Results are based on a passing score. Scene 2 is simple - it has a quiz. Scene 3 design a single hidden quiz question (Freeform T/F) that generates an auto 100% passing when the user clicks the Next button to go to the results slide. Results slides don't show (by default) number of questions answered rather just the passing score. Then, regardless if the user is going to Scene 4 from 2 or 3 the final results are calculated in that last results slide.

Finally, publish with reporting and tracking against that last results slide in Scene 4.

All of this is to say if I understand your question correctly. If not, disregard everything!
