I have created a matching drag and drop question. When I publish the question and answer it exactly as I have created it, the question is marked as incorrect. Is there some setting I may be missing?
I have attached a file - Question 8 is the problem.
Thanks for the file! I think I found the problem. I think this is happening because there are multiple responses that look exactly the same. Is there any way you can add a little variation to the matches?
If you'd like to see what I'm talking about, take a look at the attached file. I modified it by adding numbers to the matches (1 through 6). Since there's multiple matches with the same text, this makes things a little more clear. If you place the matches in the order that I've numbered them, you get the correct answer response. Maybe some formatting variation or additional text will clear this up for you.
I may have to recreate the question in a different format. The answers have to match the database language we are testing on, so changing the language or adding numbers is not an option. But it helps me see why the question is unlikely to score properly as written.
Could I do this with a drop down matching, using only 3 possible answers - knowing that each answer would be used twice? Would that work?
Yes, I think a matching drop-down would be a great alternative. The problem with the drag and drop is that it's hard to tell which answer is actually the correct answer - since they're the same.

I can't seem to open the file, Christine. I've tried opening, and I have tried saving it first to a couple different locations.
Hmm, strange. Maybe there was an issue when I uploaded it. It may be due to the size.
I'll try this again, let me know if you're able to download it!
OK, I was able to view it this time.

Let me know how it goes
Christine
I'll give it a try, thanks!
