Multiple attempts

Feb 02, 2013

Hi, I'm trying to develop a quiz the students can have multiple attempts at each question.  Each question has a choice of 9 answers, of which only one is correct.  If they choose the wrong answer, I would like to set it to enable them to re-choose one of the radio buttons until they get it right.  Each radio button will be associated with feedback to help them understand why the choice was incorrect/correct.

I want them to stay on that slide until they get the question correct, and then set it up to advance to the next slide.

In addition, is there anyway to grade this where they get 1 mark for correct answer first time, and then it goes down by say 10% with each incorrect attempt.

Thanks in advance

Hi Jayne, welcome to Heroes!

Sorry we missed this earlier If you're still looking for advice, I wanted to share some info that might help you set up the course the way you'd like.

Here's how to set the number of attempts in a quiz question. And this tutorial explains how to create custom feedback and branching. But unfortunately, there isn't currently a feature that allows for reduced credit with each incorrect answer. That's a popular feature request, though.

I hope this helps, and let us know if you have any other questions!
