PowerPoint and Quizmaker

Apr 12, 2018

If I have a PowerPoint course that I would like to add a Quizmaker Quiz to, do I have to publish the entire course (PowerPoint + Quiz slides) in order to have the quiz work? Or does the PowerPoint stay as a powerpoint and then link to the course when it gets to the slide that starts the quiz? Will it still work as a powerpoint file or will it work (and look) like it's a course published in Articulate. I'm also wondering if the functionality and design transfers over well or if there will need to be tweaks as is the case if you import powerpoint into articulate. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Heather,

If you are building a course consisting of PowerPoint/Presenter slides and a Quizmaker quiz, then yes, that's how it publishes as a Presenter project.

Once published/uploaded to the environment you choose, it will function as a training module as you've built it. It will not 'look' like the PowerPoint menu if that's what you're asking.

The quizzes and other resources are saved with a .ppta file extension and you can read more about that here.

I'm not sure what you are asking when you mention importing the content into Articulate since you are discussing Presenter, which is an Articulate tab within PowerPoint.

Just let me know if you have further questions. Otherwise, you should try it out :)

Hi Christina,

Thanks for reaching out! As Leslie mentioned above, to get the Quizmaker functionality, you'll have to publish the PowerPoint file from the Articulate tab. By default, a player is included in the presentation for quiz functionality, i.e., submit button. Here's a sample image of the default player that houses your presentation.

If you wanted to customize your player, here are some helpful resources for doing that!
