Problem Retrieving Data Error

Hi -

I have a quiz with 38 questions divided into three question groups, which are randomized to select a certain number of questions.  We are encountering a problem with one of the question groups.  For these questions, the user clicks on a hyperlink on the Quizmaker slide, which takes them to an internal website.  The user then searches for the answer (a service number) on the website, copies the number, and pastes it into the text field in the Quizmaker question.  When the user hits “Submit”, the feedback pops up, but then a “problem retrieving data” error displays.  When the user closes the error box, the course menu in our LMS displays.  The user can click on the test tab at the bottom of the screen to go back to the test question.  When the “Next question” is clicked, the error pops up again. 

 Any ideas on what is causing this?  We have a custom made LMS, SCORM 2004.

Hi Brian -

We are opening the link in a new window.  Our IT person thought that the space for logging the data in the database was too small, so he made that bigger, but the errors are still occurring.  However, two of us that have IE 8 are not getting the errors, and those with IE 7 are getting the error.  Would the version of IE have anything to do with it?
