Problem with multiple slide masters

Nov 09, 2011

Hi all, I'm having a problem with Quizmaker 09 and haven't turned up any solutions in the forums.

For now, I have a simple quiz with 9 questions. I have 1 "blank" title slide at the beginning.

I have 2 slide masters: one for the title slide and the other for all the rest of the slides.  In Quizmaker, all the slides look the way I expect - they use the master slide(s) I've assigned to them.

But when I publish (to LMS or Web), they all use the same slide master (the title one).

I've tried clearing my browser cache before reviewing the published quiz, but this doesn't fix it. I've also tried 3 different browsers with no luck.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Andrew

Hey, Andrew. Welcome to Heroes!

Have you tried publishing your quiz to the web or locally to see if you're getting the same issue?

Also, try creating a whole new quiz and publishing it to the web and then to your LMS. If you can do that successfully, we'll know the issue is related to the original quiz in question.

Let me know...

Happy to help, Andrew. Just a few things to keep in mind when using images in Quizmaker:

  • Check to make sure that you are using a supported image type. Supported image types include .JPG, .JPEG, .GIF, .PNG, .SWF. If the image is wider than 200 pixels, Articulate Quizmaker will automatically size it to fit on the question screen and provide a "Zoom" feature for the user.
  • You should also confirm that your image is web ready (RGB). CMYK images will need to be converted to work. You can do this with a 3rd party photo editor such as Microsoft Paint.
  • Your image file should be located on a local drive, not a network drive.
Good luck, and don't hesitate to check back-in if you have any further questions!

That seemed to work.

So, my experience so far is that, if I use 2 quiz masters and both have images as their backgrounds, I run into trouble. Only 1 of the masters gets used when the quiz is published. When I use just solid fill backgrounds, I get no issues.

Since it's only 1 slide that uses 1 master, I'll just place the image in the master itself, instead of as its background - hopefully, that will get things working.

That worked.  My slide masters are now behaving properly.  It seems like there might be a bug here though - may need to submit it to Articulate.
