Problem with survey quiz 'hanging' in Chrome

Nov 20, 2012

Survey quiz I published out hangs at that slide; says you must complete the quiz to continue (have restricted navigation), but the quiz does not display. It's a fatal error.

Researching I found an article that there is a bug in Quizmaker, sounds like a slightly different issue but I was going to download the update anyway - however the download link takes me to the free trial download?! Do I have to download and re-install everything?! Usually updates are a simple click and short partial download - what up, Articulate?

And is it best then to just say to use IE or another browser? I hate to restrict my client use but better that than users hitting a fatal bug in the training.

Article I was looking at: http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=qm9&id=jl3ljkzqdy5o

Hi Marilyn,

I see that you currently have a case open (00306050), someone will respond to you as soon as possible. I'll be following the progress of the case, as well.

In regards to the update, the link takes you to the product page because the update is now included in the most recent release. That update was made in 2011, for a bug where users saw a "spinner" or loading circle. Is this what you're seeing, or are you receiving an error?

In regards to the browser question, no. You should not have to restrict users to other browsers. However, have you tried testing the quiz in other browsers? What happens?

Hi, thank you.

I did just try it in Explorer - it worked better, but I still had an issue with the flashcard interaction hanging until I futzed around with it.

I seem to have some sort of issue with my playbar - while I have it set in presentation options to 1 second, the interactions seem to require longer, and for each item in the interaction. So that when you try to click on to the next slide, you get an error.

Also, there's this very annoying bug that I have to click the pulsing Next arrow twice to get it to advance! I have all slides set to advance by user. Most are just ppt slides, with interactions and survey quizzes sprinkled in.

Will y'all need to try and reproduce my errors with my training to solve this? Should I be replying this on the case? Thanks.

Hi Marilyn,

Thanks for getting back to me!

Will y'all need to try and reproduce my errors with my training to solve this? Should I be replying this on the case? Thanks.

Yes, please provide this information in the case. You can do so by just replying to the last response. We'll also need to access the files, if possible, so that we can either find what's causing the issue, or try to reproduce it.

Please upload your quiz file for our review, using this upload form. Please be sure to include your case number in the form.
