Problem with using Korean

Mar 02, 2013

I have posted this problem about 5 years ago, but i don't think there is clear solution for the matter.

Korean need to combine some alphabets to make sensible word such as "ㄱ ㅗ ㅇ -> 공"

So "공" means " a ball" in Korean. However, when i try to type the letter in Quizmaker 09, it spread out as "ㄱ ㅗ ㅇ," which doesn't make any sense at all.

If you know any solution, it will be very helpful. Tks.

I have the same problem Lucas has.

Justin, I do not think it is the exact same problem as the multi-key, stacked characters problem.

I have no problem Korean characters in other applications such as PowerPoint, Chrome Browser, etc, using the Microsoft IME on a Windows 7 PC. Can you install Microsoft IME for Korean/Hangul on a PC and see if you can type Korean in Storyline? Thanks.

Good Morning Peter, and welcome to Heroes!

Although this current thread is in the Quizmaker (Studio) Forum, I was able to reproduce this behavior within Storyline.  I have submitted this issue to our Quality Assurance Team for their review, and I will keep this Forum Thread updated with any future developments.

Copying and pasting Korean text into Storyline seems to work properly, so typing the text in Word or PowerPoint and then pasting it into Storyline may be an effective work-around until the problem is permanently resolved.

Please let us know if you need anything else, and have a great day!

Hi MB! This is an issue that our QA Team is still working on.

In the meantime, you can try this workaround:

Good Morning, Peter.

I don't have any updates to share at this time.

I just wanted to clarify that if there is a fix for the Storyline issue, it likely will be in a new version of Storyline, not an update to the current version.  I just want your expectations to be clear on this.  If there is something we can do in this version, we will certainly let you know.

Dear all,

I have the same problem in Storyline, but it is possible to enter Korean into Storyline managing all the time to "DELETE" the character. Here is an example of word with "Thank you"

The Second Line: It is ok but if you look in the Story.html file within the compressed folder enclosed, you will see that he always need to come back to mix characters and write the word properly.

The Third line is the result with writin in a row. It does not mix.

It is the same problem as the discussion above or before you did not have the chance to mix in Storyline directly?

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that while this problem has not been corrected in Studio, it was corrected in Storyline 2, so that is an option for those of you that are having issues.

Unfortunately I don't currently have any information about if/when it will be corrected in Studio.
