Problems with reports

May 24, 2011

Hi,

A student has an attempt recorded on their Activity Report, but there are no quiz answers under "How did a User Answer?"  The activity report shows that she completed 65 of 66 slides, which means that she must have completed the quiz, which displays after slide 62.  To exit the quiz and move on to slide 63, the user must click "Finish or Retry Quiz," so she couldn't have skipped the quiz (every question also requires an answer).  Our quizzes are set to "submit one question at a time," and we have already read the article Slow performance in a large quiz or survey, but there weren't any issues with any of her other quizzes.  I attached the screenshot that shows her Activity Report.

Any help that you can provide would be great.

Thanks!

Lisa

Thanks for the tip!  However, when I went to Reports, and then Score Results: How did people score?, the content is not displayed in the list of content available for the report.  I am not sure why that is because it is displayed on the Content tab.

When I go to the Content tab and select the content from the list, under select options for this presentation, I can run a report called Answer Breakdown, How did people answer.  However, this report shows all answers for each question and I can't really tell which answers are her answers.

Do you think there is a problem my content?  Should I re-publish to Articulate Online?

Thanks,

Lisa

Hi,

I have been using Articulate for a few months now, and now that we have started publishing content for our employees we have started running into a problem capturing passed/failed testing results in any reporting function for a few employees. They tell us they have completed the training but nothing is showning, except that they have opened the training.

In one case as the administrator I recieved a completion email of a training course but it did not capture the same details in the articulate reporting.

What can I do to fix this, this will cause grief for many employees if there scores are not being recorded?

Thanks.

Articulate was able to lead me to the link below:

http://www.articulate.com/support/articulate-online/kb/?p=419

But the last question I am still pondering is if an employee has left their browser open for an extended period of time and Articulate kicks the user out of the training b/c of a time lapse issue, then the user logs back in and resume the training content and completes the training... is this why we are not recieving completed reports with the approriate scores?

Do they need to finish the training right there and then? but if interupted do they need to make sure to exit and logout to be able to resume correctly and recieve accurate reporting details?

Thanks

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if someone can please give me advice for the below issue.

We want to be hosting our courses on our intranet for staff to take.  The only problem is our intranet is not scorm compliant. We are going to pay some developers to make our intranet scorm compliant so it will be compatible with Articulate. I have a question regarding the test results.

How would we get the test results from Articulate into our intranet ?  The test results seem to just get displayed on the page within Articulate and not written/stored anywhere? Are they stored somewhere within the published LMS files?

Please advise.

Many Thanks

Peter

Hi Alaina,

Other than observe the user take the quiz, from the link Justin provided above, were you able to identify any other potential issues from a developer or administrator perspective? Things like branching, email results, or even the 10-minute caching feature for reports can all cause problems with receiving results.

Hello Heroes,

I need help with several problems I am having with Storyline please.

  1. When I use the rollover trigger on one slide, it seems to time out and stop the trigger action before the learner has read the information. It is strange that it only happens on some rollover actions and not on others.
  2. I have one quiz showing the score as correct before  the quiz is taken
  3. In one quiz the answer given is correct and the quiz shows it to be correct, but the quiz review slide shows it to be wrong.

Thanks for your help

I am having a problem with my reports.  I am getting a lot of incomplete slides. The report indicates Incomplete when  in fact the person has completed ALL the slides and quizzes. It says Passed when she hasn’t. Can you provide some insight as to why our reports are all over the place?  What am I doing wrong?? Can I send my reports/ presentation to someone to help me??

Hi Natasha!

Can you tell us which product you're using? As far as a testing ground, we recommend using SCORM Cloud. It's the industry stand for SCORM courses, and can be used to troubleshoot tracking issues.

Would you mind testing your course in SCORM Cloud to help us determine if the issue is Articulate-related or if it's on your LMS's side? If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on. If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team. The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

Thanks, Natasha!
