Publishing HTML5 for Moodle

Jan 17, 2014

Hi,

I've recently started using QM13 and am testing out publishing content to work in our Moodle LMS.

I've published a quiz to HTML5 and uploaded to Moodle. On a PC, the output works, but on an iPad, it displays a 'Play' button screen. Screengrabs attached...

Does anyone know how to fix this? I hoped it would display the same way!

Thanks,

Louise

Hi Louise,

I'm afraid not - that's the designed method for launching HTML5 content on an iPad. When you click on the "Play" button, it should then open Safari with the link.

Currently HTML5 on Safari for iOS requires user interaction for media on the first slide to play, which is why the launch page is included as part of HTML5 courses.

This older thread has more relevant discussion on that.

While that thread contains information for Storyline, there may be some suggestions you could try out for our current project.

Let us know how it goes!

Hi Christine,

Thanks for the link. I've looked through the posts and have also found this one where someone has located the thumbnail that appears on the launch screen. I will have to try editing this image, but this isn't an easy workaround. I have also added a feature request to be able to edit this screen in case that's possible for the future...
