Publishing to SCORM resets

Sep 02, 2012

Dear all,

I have a problem with settings for quizzes after publishing to SCORM.

The trainings I am working on have lots of quiz. For the final quiz, I want a user to view slides only after they pass the quiz so I adjust settings accordingly. When I publish for Web, these settings stay but when I chose to publish for LMS (SCORM 1.2 or 2004) the settings get reset. Once published, the user can just jump to the last slide without passing the final quiz. When I open the quiz settings again, I see the settings are reset for this one option.

I would appreciate if anyone would advise how to go about that.

Thank you,

Hanna

Hi Hanna!

Have you had a chance to run your course through SCORM Cloud? Instructions for doing that can be found here. The advantage of doing that, is to determine whether the issue is on the Articulate- or LMS-side. If you can reproduce the issue in SCORM Cloud, I'd recommend opening a ticket with our support team. If you're not able to reproduce the issue in SCORM Cloud, you'll want to discuss it with your LMS team. Let us know, and good luck

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your answer. I don't have an access to LMS. I am publishing the files to deliver the client. When I publish to WEB, the settings stay the same, they get re-set once I chose SCORM. I test it by opening player in the web. I am thinking that maybe once the training gets imported to LMS it will start working, but at the same time I don't know why the settings woud reset. Out of 7 trainings I published, 2 would keep the setting I chose. All the other got reset.

I have reported a ticket for it already, but if anything else comes to your mind, please share

Thanks,

Hanna

HI Hanna,

Thanks for the additional info. I see your case with Sid now. I think the key here is getting it uploaded to an LMS and testing it there. Testing a course outside of the environment it was published for can lead to strange and unpredictable behavior, like you're running into. Let us know how things shake out. Thanks!
