Hello, I'm working on installing my Studio '09 license on my brand-new Windows 8.1 machine. I am getting this error (and a host of similar) after running the download.
Sorry to hear about the error messages you're running into. When you upgrade to Windows 8.1 and launch Articulate Quizmaker '09, you will be prompted to activate your software even if it was already activated. This is a known issue. Currently the only solution is to reactivate your software.
Additionally, if the odd behavior persists with other errors, you may want to look into conducting the repair detailed here.

I'm not familiar with this error Jennifer. You mention after running the download, so is this occurring during installation?
Make sure you are utilizing the latest version here.
If you still have difficulty, it may be best to work with support as they can check error logs.
