Question about Quizmaker- using images
Jun 19, 2014
I have a 9-step sequence of steps in a process--- each of which is depicted with a photograph, rather than with text. What I would like to do is have all 9 pictures on a slide, out of order, and ask the user to put them into the correct sequence by dragging and dropping each one to a specific spot on the screen. (empty placeholders labeled 1-9, and the user would move the photos into the correct spot by dragging and dropping them.) The closest I've come to- regarding the Quizmaker quizzes, is the one called "Ranking drag and drop". The only problem is, I can't figure out a way to use images (my 9 photos) as the choices. It looks as though my only option is to enter text for the choices.
Does anyone know.... is there a way within Quizmaker, to drag and drop photos into a desired sequence? Is there another "type" of quiz that would lend itself to what I want to do?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Julie,
Are you using Quizmaker '13 or '09?
Also, have you considered using the Freeform Drag-and-Drop quiz type? I think that sounds like something that would be perfect for your project.
Let me know if you have any trouble with this, or any questions.
Best,
Christine
THanks, Christine. I'm using Quizmaker '09. I've looked and looked, and can't find anything about freeform drag and drop. Is this a new feature in '13, that is not available in '09? It does sound like exactly what I need. Thanks. Julie C.
Hi Julie,
Sorry for the confusion! Yes, the Drag-and-Drop quiz I mentioned and linked to is available in Quizmaker '13.
Now, in Quizmaker '09, you can add images to the Matching Drag-and-Drop. Perhaps that would help?
Quizmaker '09 Tip: Adding Images to Your Matching Drag-and-Drop
You're always welcome to try Quizmaker '13 as well, if you'd like. It's available free, for 30 days. Just keep in mind that you cannot have Studio '09 and Studio '13 installed at the same time on the same machine. You can always go pack to '09 if you find that you prefer that version. The free trial information is available on this page.
Let me know if you have any questions, or if you're able to find an option that works for you.
Thanks!
Christine
