Thanks for reaching out and letting us know what you are running into with the HTML5 output from Quizmaker '13.
I was able to replicate the behavior you described and this has been reported as a software bug.
I'm attaching this conversation to the report so that any updates can be shared here with you.
In the meantime, you can remove the slides from the Question List so that it is not able to be accessed by your learners. Check out the instructions here.
Do you have the 'Submit all at once' answer submission option selected in your Quizmaker Player Properties window? If so, that will display a previous and next button by default.
A few ideas!
Use a freeform question slide as the first slide. One approach can be to add a freeform pick one slide with a button that says, "I'm ready to start the quiz." Then your learner can select that button and click the Submit button. Be sure this question won't be included in the quiz results score.
Embed the Quizmaker file inside a Presenter one. That way, you could remove the previous button from the properties of just that slide. More on that in this tutorial!

Thank you Leslie,
Is there anyway you can remove the Previous button on the first slide?

Let me know if that helps!
Thank you, I will give that a try.
