Quiz question and answer display incorrectly Presenter 13
Jan 14, 2014
I am using Studio 13 and have discovered that the quiz answers and questions will not display correctly on some computers. I have not found a "why" for it but the question on a multi-response question will be in the middle of the screen with the answers above and below it with a different answer showing when you put the cursor on an answer. It is not on all machines and I can't find a difference between the OK and Not OK computers set-ups.
Also, the True/False will display the choices of True and False but only a few words of the question. In addition the answers on the test seem to "flicker" when you mouse over them and it is the correct choice. Once a user discovers that, they can pick the answers without knowing the material. Help??

Hi Paul,
First, when does this happen? Is this happening for you, as you're testing the project, or have you already distributed this content and you're seeing reports from learners?
If this is only happening for you at the moment, what environment are you using to test this? Does it happen during preview, after publishing, after publishing and uploading to a server, etc.?
What web browsers are you/learners using to view the content?
Here are the download links for the most popular browsers, just in case you don't have them:
Also, if this happens only after you've uploaded to an LMS or server, have you tested outside of that service?
If you haven't already, try using SCORM Cloud.
Another option would be to use our Tempshare server. Just keep in mind that this server is only available for testing content - it is not officially supported by Articulate and all content will be removed automatically after 10 days.
You're always welcome to try out Articulate Online, as well - it's available for a free 30 day trial.
It didn't show up in our testing but was noticed in production by users. For both they are zipped and loaded to our home-built LMS. We're a very restricted environment and everybody is using computers with Windows 7 and the MS Browser version 9 or 10 (most are 10) and nobody is using version 11 as it won't work in our environment with other applications we use. No other browsers are in use within our environment. I'll also pass on your suggestions for looking at the course with other LMS environments.
Thanks!
Hi Paul,
Excellent information, thank you very much for sharing that.
Let me know how the testing goes outside of your LMS - I'm curious to see if there's a difference.
Thanks again and have a great day!
Christine
Here is a screen shot of what the questions look like on some machines. I have found it in two courses we've published with Articulate 13 but not in any of the prior (Studio 09) versions. It only shows up on very few computers. On one machine when I log in, use the computer to take the test it appears as it should. Only when the regular user is logged in will it have the messed up look. When that user goes to another computer to complete the test - there is no issue and the test shows up as it should.
We're at a loss for what could cause this.
I am also seeing issues with the positioning of multiple choice and multi-response questions. It is by no means WYSIWYG. The answers are shifted left when published.
IE 9.
Hi Paul and Jack,
Thanks for the screenshots, both of you.
Paul - do you know if the learners seeing this are seeing it only in Internet Explorer 9? When you view it and it shows up normally, are you viewing in 9 or 10?
I'm curious if it's an issue with both versions of IE (randomly) or if it's specific to a version.
This issue is proving to be a bit inconsitent. The offset does not always happen after publishing. it comes and goes. Weird.
Hi Jack,
I agree, it does sound weird. Do you happen to know if this is happening in other browsers for your project, other than IE 9?
Was there ever a resolution to this issue? Some of my users are experiencing something similar. The question stem will populate, but the answer stems are not showing up on the screen. The course works fine for most users; only a handful are having this issue. The course is in production and is distributed through the SkillPort LMS. Help!
Hi Dawn,
Just wanted to let you know that I recently responded to your earlier post:
Quizmaker 13 some users are not able to see answers in quiz
Thanks!
