Quiz Randomizer

Feb 06, 2017

I am designing a course for a group of users. In the course, I have a quiz that they are required to take and pass at 80% - they have two attempts to pass. The issue is that while the questions are random the first time the user takes the quiz, it is no longer random when they attempt the quiz again. Has anyone ran into this issue? Is it just how the randomizer works, or is there a way around it. I really want the user to get a new selection of the questions each time they attempt it.

Thanks,

Hi there Naomi,

Sorry to hear you've run into this trouble! Are you seeing this behavior when viewing the HTML5 output? We are aware of an issue in Studio '13 when viewing the HTML5 output of a randomized quiz, the questions will not randomize when retrying the quiz from the results slide. Does that description seem to match what you're seeing on your end?

Ah, that explains it! We've reported this issue to our Quality Assurance team, and until we have a fix for this, they're recommending that you use the Flash output or you instruct your learners to refresh the course before retaking the quiz. I'll add your experience to the report, and I'll pop back and and share updates here as more information is available!
