Quiz thinks its open in Quizmaker

Hi all...I can't publish a course in Presenter because it can't update one of the randomized quizzes. Presenter seems to think that the quiz is already open in Quizmaker. This is not the case. Quizmaker is not open and I can't find a process that suggests it is running anywhere. I am also able to open the offending quiz for editing, save it, close it no problem etc. but the problem persists.
Have rebooted, opened and closed PP, presenter etc. but no luck...any thoughts?...Thanks

Have you tried saving it as a new file, then rename the offending file. back in presenter, when you click to edit the quiz, it should ask where it is. Choose the newly named file.
Hi Michael & welcome to Heroes,
Are you receiving an actual error message? If so, can you post a screen shot of it. If not, can you give me some additional information on the issue? From reading your post, it sounds like you're not seeing the updated version of the quiz in your published content. If that's the case, remove the slide from your presentation that contains the quiz & republish the quiz to your presentation. That should resolve the issue.
If you're still having issues, make sure that you're not working off of a network or USB drive. If you are, move your files to your local hard drive & then attempt to replicate the issue.
Hi and thanks for the replies. Unfortunately none of the above worked. I even copied the offending slide to a new PP file and republished it there with no luck. I have deleted the quiz and re-imported it as well but still no luck.
Any further suggestions would be much appreciated.
Michael

Hi all and thanks so far with the help. Unfortunately none of the solutions have worked and it is all a bit of a nightmare. It seem that the issue occurs when Presenter tries to update quizzes when publishing. Does anyone know how to tell Presenter NOT to update quizzes when publishing? I would like to give this a try and see if I can at least get something up and going. This is our first go at using Articulate and although I like it in general, it does seem to experience a number of issues. Just teething troubles for a new user I hope!
If anyone can help re changing the quiz update setting that would be great
Thanks again
Hi Michael,
You can go to the Articulate menu, select Presentation Options and then click on the Publish tab. You'll see a box for "update Quizmaker quizzes and Engage interactions before publishing".
I am receiving the same message. I have removed the quiz from Presenter then Published it to Presenter again. I believe that the articulate (ppta) file is holding false data . There must be some way to reset the file data. Can you help?
Hi Paul,
Typically, when you remove a quiz & then republish the file, this will regenerate the PPTA file. Would you mind submitting a support case to us so that we can take a closer look at the issue?
Please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:

I had constructed a PowerPoint as a menu for several quizzes. Ipublished the quizzes into the PowerPoint. When I try to publish, as a Scorm, with the setting of update quiz data, Publish is interrupted with the errorthat the quiz cannot be updated. The message asks me to check if the quiz isopen in another program. I was only able to get around the problem by copyingthe PowerPoint and quizzes onto a zip drive and publish form a differentcomputer.
I have over 150 PowerPoint's with quizzes published and in useso I am not a novice.
I also had a problem with reinstalling Studio 09. I uninstalledit through the control panel to try to repair this problem. When I reinstalledit the windows installer would not close. I had to force reboot.
The forum question that I posted this problem under seemed to bethe same issue.
I have uploaded the files.
Hi Paul,
Thanks for uploading the files. We'll have our support team look into the issues.
