quizmaker 09 - cannot "view project" after publish

Dec 17, 2015

I have existing published quizzes in Quizmaker 09.  When I republish (without making any changes) and click on view project, the file doesn't open.  It just sits on the screen with the spinning circle.  If I go to the actual published file and try to open it, it does the same thing.  I recently upgraded to IE11, but that is the only change I've had on my PC.  Any idea why I can't view my published file?

Hi, Jan -- So sorry to hear of the difficulties you are experiencing! Are you seeing the same behavior when you test your published output in the intended environment? As stated in the article, "If you view a published Articulate Quizmaker '09 quiz on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail."

You may also want to check out this information on System Requirements and run through the troubleshooting and repair steps listed here if issues persist.

Hi. I have not given the file to our LMS team because if I can't see the file first, I doubt they will be able to. I did have someone publish it in Quizmaker 13, and it worked fine. But I need to know why 09 isn't working for any of my files. I am working on my local drive, not a network drive. I can't reinstall because these programs come from our IT department and that would take days for them to push to my computer again (get in line, so to speak). The articles didn't help because I don't have admin rights to do any of those steps. Any other ideas?

Hi, Jan -- So sorry to hear that the info provided will not be of much assistance to you at the moment... If you would like, I would be glad to publish your .quiz file in my version of '09 on my machine and then test the published output on the SCORM Cloud, as that environment is the industry standard for LMS testing. I would then be able to reply with a link you could use to test the published output, as well.

Otherwise, I may need to put you in touch with our Support Engineers to see what other ideas they can suggest that would not involve your IT dept. running through the repair steps in the link above.

Hi Christie.  That would be great if you could publish it.  My teammates only have quizmaker 13 and we have not tested that on our LMS at all, so I would prefer to leave it in 09 as this is a rush (of course!).  I tried to load the zip file to the scorm cloud, but got an error message when I tried to launch it.  Where should I post the .quiz file for you to publish?

Hi, Jan -- I'm happy to help! If privacy is not a concern, you can use the ADD ATTACHMENT button at the bottom left corner of the reply box here in the thread, and browse/attach your .quiz file from there. Or, if you would prefer to send it confidentially, you are welcome to use this form and simply address it to my attention. Thanks! :)
