QuizMaker '09 Quiz isn't Appearing

I'm hoping that you can give me assistance.

I created an Articulate Engage training and Quizmaker Quiz. The training was published as an AICC.  And uplaoded to our LMS.
  • The Engage training appears without issue.
  • The quiz pauses in a working state.
  • To address the issue. I have recreated the quiz. I have removed and re-added the quiz.

I'm trying to figure out why the quiz doesn't load.

Can you assist?

I had a similar problem, although it was pre-LMS. The quiz wouldn't load when I tested the published version of the course. When I gave the source files to a colleague, she published the course and it worked just fine. Eventually, I figured out that the file-path name for the quiz exceeded the limit that Windows can handle (which is somewhere around 260). When I moved the published course files (the ones I was having problems with) to a higher-level folder, the quiz loaded just as it should.

Now, I try to keep all my file names as short as possible. One caveat: I've also found that if I change the name of ANY folder in a file path, Presenter loses the connection to inserted interactions and quizzes, and it won't use updated versions when publishing. In other words, the program goes by the entire path name (every folder, starting from your hard drive), not just a relative path (starting from wherever your PPTA is).  If something in the file-path name is changed, you have to re-insert all the .intr and .quiz files.

I don't know if this would/could be an issue in your LMS, but it's something to consider.

Hi Judy,

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my issue.  I'm not sure your solution is the answer.  However, I did give it a try.  I changes the name of both the Engage and Quizmaker Items.  I uploaded the published AICC files to our LMS server and found that the issue still persist...  The enage file with the training works fine.  However, when I enter the Quizmaker quiz....  The file just sits in a holding pattern.

If you have any more thoughts...  It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the file. Unfortunately, though, the file contains output files, so we're unable to see the course or test the content. Would you mind testing your course in SCORM Cloud to help us determine if the issue is Articulate related or if it's on your LMS's side? If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on. If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team. The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

Also, to test AICC content at SCORM Cloud, you'll need to modify the Filename(URL) field when you publish your Articulate content, and upload the published output to an external server. Here's how:

Hi Christine,

Thanks for your support on this matter.  I have followed all of the documentation that you have included in your last post. Unfortunately, I am still in the same place. I have tried and re-published countless times and the problem still exist.

It appears that something is happening in AICC publishing process. However, in the preview and published SCORM 1.2 the quiz operates fine. Do you have any other suggestions?

I'm sorry to hear you're still working with this. If you'd like, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what's happening. Please include your project's .QUIZ file, or a Presenter Package if you're including the quiz in a Presenter Presentation

Hopefully we'll be able to find out what's causing this.
