Quizmaker 13 standalone exam - Finish button doesn't work in LMS

Apr 03, 2014

We are currently trying to transition from 09' to '13 and are in the testing phase on our LMS.  When publishing a standalone exam, the finish button does not work, and the results do not report to the LMS.  My company uses Internet Explorer 8, and the Oracle Learning Management System.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks Leslie, unfortunately none of the scenarios in the link that you directed me to apply to my situation.

  • We are using Internet Explorer 8, not Firefox.
  • I am not launching locally, but rather launching from the LMS, just as an end user would.
  • Finally, the LMS does not open the quiz.html file, but rather the index_lms.html file, and the LMS automatically launches the course in a new window.  However, my published content is not set to open in a new window, so I guess that is an automatic function of the LMS.

Any other suggestions?  I will try publishing my content again with "Launch player in new window" enabled.  However my LMS team told me that that won't work with our LMS.  Another idea I had was to modify the Configuration.js file and change the Exit_Behavior function to "Always_Close", as described (for Presenter, not Quizmaker!) in this article.  I'm not sure if this will work for Quizmaker output.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Ryan and welcome to the community!

Leslie is out of the office today. However, I wanted to pop in and see if I could be of some assistance with the trouble you're having.

It's possible it may be either due to the web browser, or the LMS. Have you tried testing with a different web browser, or tried uploading to a different LMS? If you haven't already, you could try uploading to SCORM Cloud.

I created a quick standalone Quizmaker '13 quiz, enabled the "Finish" button and published for LMS. I uploaded to SCORM Cloud for testing and the "Finish" button works properly for me in Internet Explorer 10 (I do not have access to Internet Explorer 8).

If you'd like to test using the quiz I created, just click on the following link:

Please let us know if you see any improvement by using the quiz I shared, or if you're able to test in a different web browser, or possibly a different version of the web browser. This would help us narrow the issue down.

Thanks!

Best,

Christine

We've been struggling for more than a month with this issue. I thought it was fixed last month but learned it wasn't. The past two weeks I've tried everything and nothing works. Similar to Ryan, this was an older course we updated to Presenter 13. Of the 12 quizzes it was the last one that didn't work and therefore the learner was never marked as completed. Now that I've tried every strategy I can think of, the situation has gotten worse and now the first of the 12 quizzes doesn't work either.
