Quizmaker Error "URI formats are not supported"

May 09, 2013

Hello!

I recently applied the patch to Articulate '09 suite and am now having a problem with Quizmaker. I created a one question quiz (to show navigation). I can preview just fine, but when I click to Publish, I receive an error titled "URI formats are not supported". If I click continue, it just refreshes the error. If I click Quit, I get an error that Quizmaker must close and it does. I am using IE8, but I doubt that it may have something to do with this. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi there Bridget,

Have you tried restarting your machine? I've seen this pop up a couple of times in older discussion threads and it looks like this can help resolve it, most of the time.

You may also want to make sure you're working with a local file:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

Let me know if you continue to see that error message when trying to publish your quiz.

Thanks!
