Quizmaker Hotspot to URL Not Working..

May 16, 2011

Hello everyone:
I am trying to set up a page at the end of a course that the user must complete in order to get credit for the course, but it will lead them to a Zoomerang link, in order to take a course evauation.

After trying several options, I settled on using one Quizmaker question that contains a Hotspot, and since you cannot link button actions to URLs, I wanted to make it so that clicking the button would finish the quiz, and then the quiz would take the learner out to the URL.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work.  When the learner clicks the Quizmaker button, the selection arrow goes into the "spin cycle," but nothing else happens, If you try to click Submit, nothing happens, the Quiz never ends and the course goes nowhere, what could I be doing wrong?

OR... does anybody have a better idea to accomplish this? It has to be scored, because we want to force people out to take the evaluation... so I don't think I can do that just using a regular page.

Thank you!

Is there a reason you wouldn't just use a hyperlink from your final page?  If you are using an LMS, one quiz will be scored anyway and then you could just have them click the link on the final page.  You can let them know they wont get credit unless they actually take the evaluation.  I am assuming there is something else I am missing here though.  Let me know so that we can provide some other options if necessary.

UPDATE... I did this quiz over several times, and got it to work.  I think that the problems that I had were caused by:

1. I expected the SUBMIT button to "light up" or something after clicking the Hotspot;

2. It's possible that there was a conflict going on between what Presenter thought it should do next, and Quizmaker wanted to do, so they were just sitting there in conflict.  Make sure your choices don't conflict with each other.

3.  I was trying this out in PREVIEW which doesn't always seem to work as well as Published.

Thanks for the thoughts!
