Jeanette is there a way to use a power point template in quizmaker?

Unfortunately there isn't a turn-key way to import a slide master from PowerPoint into Quizmaker. But one thing that some folks do is this...   Select All on your PPT slide master, group everything, and save it as an image (such as PNG), and then insert that as the background of your quiz slide. The only thing is, depending on what's on your slide master, you may need to do a little cropping or resizing once you put it into Quizmaker, because the slide stages are slightly different. PPT is 720x540 pixels, and Quizmaker is 686x424.

Or... another option that might work better to do a copy/paste of your individual slide elements from your PPT slide master to your Quizmaker slide master, and then rearrange, resize from there.

I went with option 2. Cut and Paste the bits and then resize.

I can't seem to get the Slide Master feature to work in Quizmaker. It will apply the background design appropriately; but the changes I've made to the text boxes get lost.

For example, if I change the font type, size, color and/or position of the texk boxes - these chanegs do not get carried over to the slide when I apply the master. I even try selecting the individual question, going to slide view, clicking on the master design and selecting apply - still nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Also, i tried to add drawing guidelines but only one vertical and one horizontal line appears - I can't seem to move the drawing guide line or add additional lines. Is this correct?

Hi Catherine - you're not doing anything wrong, that's just how it currently works in Quizmaker. The text boxes don't update location and styles like they do in PowerPoint.

What a lot of users will do is create the template (just like you did) and continue building the question slides with placeholder questions, choices and feedback. Once those question slides are built, save them as a Quizmaker Template. That will retain the formatting and layout designs you applied.

From there, you can import them or create a new quiz from them and duplicate the slides as needed. Let me know if you have any questions on that process.

I'm having a problem with getting my slide master to apply to other quizzes in my course. I followed the tutorial, which was very helpful, about how to save it as a theme so it would be visible in other quizzes and I can see it in the other quizzes and I've clicked 'Apply to all slides' as suggested but it doesn't apply. I've tried saving and reopening Quizmaker but no luck. Any suggestions?
