Quizmaker Output "Spinning" Using VPN to Launch on SharePoint

Jan 23, 2013

This is a random issue that I have come across. I am usually pretty good at figuring this type of thing out.

When a course including a Quizmaker Quiz is published to web and placed into a SharePoint folder under normal circumstances it works just fine.

We have users that for various reasons can ONLY VPN in from their location. When they do...and when I do while testing from my desk...Quizmaker hangs up on the Spinner screen and never loads.

One thing I have heard from my SharePoint guru is that occasionally SharePoint adds a bit of Java to links...not sure why this would affect my output except that a "link" that the published files is looking for has been renamed by some odd combination of VPN and SharePoint and cant be found...

If this was the case, or if anyone has run into this before, how could I test this and trouble shoot it?

Thanks for any input.

Hi David,

Personally, I've never used SharePoint. However, there is one thing I'd like to suggest for troubleshooting this. Are you able to host the course elsewhere and test it through the VPN? If it still happens, I'd think it would be an issue with VPN. If it doesn't happen, then I'd direct my attention to SharePoint.

You could also try, if you haven't already, to publish the quiz as a standalone quiz and try running it via SharePoint and the VPN.

Hopefully we'll be able to pinpoint the issue.

Thanks!
