Quizmaker responses are too small

Jan 05, 2016

When I am building a question the response buttons/boxes look much bigger that when I publish the question. How do I make them bigger?Quizmaker response buttons

Thanks,

Okay, got that. But that seems to only work for that question. It doesn't remain the default radio button or check box within Quizmaker or even that quiz. I am still having to "fix" as I write each question.

Right now I am having to go through every quiz I have written and fix each individual answer choice. Any way to make it automatic?

Hi, Mindy -- At the bottom of the article I sent, there should be a section as seen below that addresses what you need to do to set the default button styles:

Setting Default Button Styles

After customizing a radio button or check box, you can set it as the default style for all new buttons in the same quiz. Just right-click it, and choose Set as Default Radio Button or Set as Default Check Box.

Hope that helps, but please let us know if you are still having issues! :)

I see, Mindy -- thanks for the clarification!

In order to better serve you and get a different perspective on the issue you are having, I'd like to recommend working directly with our Support Engineers. I will go ahead and create/submit a ticket on your behalf momentarily. You will be hearing from a member of the support staff via the email address we have on file for you as soon as they've had a chance to review your case.

I plan to follow along and will share relevant updates here for others who may benefit! :)

UPDATE: For those following along with Mindy's thread, here is resolution reached by our Support Engineer, Gren, on her case as of 1/6/16:

"I understand that you'd like a way to set a default radio button formatting and apply it to all existing radio buttons in a Quizmaker quiz.

When you select the menu "Set as Default Radio Button" or "Set as Default Check Box", the radio button or check box formatting will only be applied to the radio buttons and check boxes in NEW questions. The existing radio buttons and check boxes will not be affected/changed.

Quizmaker '13 has a new Format Painter feature, where you can quickly copy formatting from one object to another, including text formatting, fill, outline, shadow, and other effects (see more information here: http://articulate.fyi/1PKOull). However, there is currently an issue with the Format Painter where this fails on radio buttons and check boxes. This is currently being investigated by our Quality Assurance team.

Unfortunately, in this case, you'll need to individually change the formatting of the radio buttons. For radio buttons located in one question, you can select multiple radio buttons (press the Shift key and select the radio buttons in the question), then apply the formatting for the selected radio buttons.

We recommend to file this feature (setting a default formatting to apply to all existing radio buttons and check boxes in the quiz) as a Feature Request for future updates or versions of Quizmaker. To ensure that your suggestion is appropriately routed to our product development team for review, please submit your feature request here."
