Quizmaker Results disapppointment

Dec 18, 2016

Generally speaking the folks at articulate make good decisions and the software holds up nicely.  I have had Articulate since the 09 version and there is (in my mind) a perpetual blemish in The Quizmaker function. Other software of similar functionality correctly and intelligently allow for a customized capability by quiz to have the results of the quiz emailed to the taker of the quiz and also to a predefined email address for the grader developer.  I realize this may not be a mass market need but aside from the practical record keeping of the grades it would also be a boon to development as you could have people play with the quiz and then finish developing based on behavior.  This compels me to use other software for quizzes which is a shame. Even more so as this is nothing more than some simple scripting.

Hi Ted!  Thanks for reaching out.  You aren't alone in your request.  You might have already discovered this info in your research, but the basic reasoning is that with modern browsers and security settings, unfortunately there's no way that we can ensure that an email results feature will work easily, accurately, and consistently. For example, if a learner uses gmail or their computer’s security settings are high, you can’t email results. Also, you run the risk of learners tampering with results since they can access the email before it’s sent.

I still think it's worth submitting a feature request, however, and to share your voice with our product development team.
