Quizmaker Survey reporting to LMS

May 12, 2018

We have a course survey and need to capture all of the learner's answers. When I publish the survey as a SCORM, the only reporting option I can choose for LMS publishing is "Complete/Incomplete" or "Pass/No Pass", basically. How can I enable the LMS to capture all of the learner's answers, not just "complete"? When tested in the LMS, the survey will show that's it's been completed, but all of the other answers come us as "neutral", meaning nothing was captured.

Thanks for those extra details, Marcia!

You'll definitely want to include a results slide, as that's what sends the data to the LMS. You can keep the results slide simple with a text box that says, "Thank you for completing the survey."

Good to know you already tested the quiz on SCORM Cloud. In that case, I'd really like to take a closer look at your file. Would you mind sending it to our team here? Thanks!

Quizmaker isn't editable enough, so I switched to Storyline. Is there anyone who has successfully created a survey that reports results? I feel like I've gone through every thread I can find here, followed the instructions, but I only get "complete/incomplete" reporting, no matter what I try. I have even downloaded a bunch of quiz samples from the download section, tested them in SCORM cloud and have never gotten any data. I have published SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, and Tin Can...same results.

Hi Marcia,

What type of survey questions are you using? I know the Likert type is one that doesn't report a lot of data outside to an LMS, outside of Articulate Online. If you'd like to check what data Storyline is sending to an LMS, you could also look at enabling LMS debug mode.

If you wanted to share a copy of your .story file, we're happy to take a look and see what we can spot in the settings as well!

I used multiple choice and associated points to each question and lowered the passing score. Since it is only 1 question.... my theory was based on the score, we can tell what they answered. I didn't know if there was a better way to do this or if we have multiple questions to ask, how we can caputre each answer.

We are using Taleo Learn.

Hi Marie,

How many questions have you added in total? They'd each be their own slides and report the answers to the LMS if tracked by your results slide. If you're not seeing those within Taleo, I'd ask your LMS admin for advice on how to pull reports which showcase a learners answers.

You could also look at uploading your course to an environment like SCORM Cloud to test it and see how the reporting displays there.
