I have a quiz that I have set so that learners must complete the quiz before advancing. If they complete the quiz and then go back into it a second time, they have to repeat the whole quiz again before they can move on, ie Articulate doesn't remember that it has already been completed. Is there any way around this?
In the Properties of the quiz, set "Allow user to leave quiz" to "Anytime" and then set "User may view slides after quiz" to "After passing quiz". This'll give you the functionality that you're looking for.
Thanks for that. I do want them to complete the quiz because I added extra information into the responses depending on if they get it wrong or right. I have it set so that they have up to two attempts, and after that I give the correct information if they get it right. I want them to be able to view the slides again if they want to, whether they get it wrong or right. I hope that makes sense!
Totally makes sense It's good to let them review the information, so it sticks out in their minds. Sometimes, it's easier to remember something if you get it wrong the first time, because you were reminded of the correct answer. You don't want it to happen again, so you make a little mental "sticky note". At the same time, it's good to keep content fresh - so updating the feedback is a great idea!
I think a great option would be the correct and incorrect answer feedback. You can add a lot of information here. So, since you've already set up the quiz to allow more than one attempt, you could add the additional information to the correct or incorrect pop-up.
Say, for example, there's a Christmas question. The user is allowed to attempt the question twice, but you want to give them more information on the topic if they get it wrong (it might point them in the right direction, especially if it's a difficult question). When you open up the question, you'll be able to add additional content into these responses.
It'll look like this:
When a user has finished the quiz, they'll be able to review it whether they've passed or not. Here, they'll be able to see what the correct answer is and what answer they chose.
I put together a quick quiz example with extra feedback in the correct and incorrect answer feedback. You can take a look at it, here.
Let me know if this is something that might work for you.
Hi Christine, thanks for that - but I already have that that set up, it works well. What I'm trying to do is ensure that learners have to complete the quiz, whether they pass or not, but that they are able to go back into the quiz to review it, without being forced to complete the whole quiz again. Sorry I'm obviously not explaining this very well.
First, lets just make sure I understand what you're wanting to do, I've just been jumping into examples. You want the learners to finish the quiz, then be able to review it afterwords without having to take it again, correct? If they review the quiz, they shouldn't need to take it over again. Reviewing will just show what they selected and what the correct answer was.
Is the quiz you're working with now not allowing them to do so? If so, can you share your .quiz file here, so I can take a look at what you have so far?
Thanks again, Michelle. We'll get this right, eventually!

Thanks Christine. So is there any way of doing that then? I have been playing with the options and can't get to act in this way.
