Self Assessment in Cornerstone LMS

Dec 04, 2012

Hi Everyone,

We have created a product knowledge self-assessment in Quizmaker that lives on our Cornerstone LMS. the premise is this:

1) Learner passes the quiz with a score of 85%. The Pass Result slide appears with a link to a page in the LMS with a list of advanced courses.

2) Learner fails the quiz. The Fail Result slide appears with a link to a page in the LMS with a list of beginner level courses.

Our problem is that whether the learner passes or fails, we want the quiz to be marked complete in his/her transcript. We have tried setting the tracking results to Passed/Failed, but the quiz is only marked complete for a passing score. Any ideas on the settings we should use to make this work as we intend? Thanks!

Hi Rachael,

You can try changing the passing score requirement in your quiz to 0% to mark the course as complete. Alternatively, you can try to insert the quiz into Presenter and track completion by slides viewed.

Justin made a post about this a while back that may also help. Here's the information he shared:

In order to have a quiz marked as failed and moved to the transcript, you would need to use either Passed/Failed or Complete/Failed. If you have a quiz that is set up this way, it's up to the LMS to determine what to do with this information. You could try the below, though I'm not sure if it will really help. I would make a backup of your files prior to making this change:

To work around this issue so that courses are set to complete on exit, do the following:

1. Navigate to the following folders on your computer:

C:\Program Files\Articulate\Articulate Quizmaker\Content\lms
C:\Program Files\Articulate\Articulate Engage\content\lms
C:\Program Files\Articulate\Presenter\players\template_scorm\lms

2. Open the Configuration.js file in notepad
3. Change the following line:

var DEFAULT_EXIT_TYPE = EXIT_TYPE_SUSPEND;

To:

var DEFAULT_EXIT_TYPE = EXIT_TYPE_FINISH;

4. Save the files.
5. Republish your Articulate content, and upload it to your LMS
