Short answer

Oct 10, 2016

Hi, I'm creating an interactive activity with dialogues where students have to write down what they think might be a correct answer in a text box. I would like to compare their answers in the next slide with our own suggestion. How can I make the students' input appear on the next slide? Is this even possible? :p

Thanks!

Hi Gabriela,

You should be able to accomplish this by adding a data-entry field then using a variable reference to it on the page you wish their answer to display on.

I threw together a quick example which I've attached here so you can see the set up. If you preview it, you'll be able to type in your favorite color in the text entry field on the first slide. When you go to the next slide, you'll see the answer you typed from the previous slide referenced there.

Hope that's helpful! Let me know if you have questions. :)

My apologies Gabriela, the answer I described above is for Storyline 2 not for Quizmaker. Case of the Monday's on my part ;)

The features I described for Storyline are not part of the functionality in Quizmaker, so I'll have to defer to the community on possible ways to accomplish it there. If these are features you'd like to be able to take advantage of in Quizmaker, I would also highly recommend sharing your thoughts with our Product Development Team by way of this form
