I am having an issue with our Sumtotal LMS averaging quiz scores when a person retakes a quiz they did not pass. I would have rather have the old, non-passing score replaced by the newer one. Is this possible? Sumtotal tells me this is a Quizmaker issue and not Sumtotal.
Quizmaker wouldn't actually be the one relaying an average score to the LMS. All Quizmaker does is report this information to your LMS, and it is then entirely up to the LMS to determine how that information is reported and displayed.
Or are you asking if it's possible for Quizmaker to allow a user's score to only improve with each subsequent attempt on the course?
Correct, its relaying another score and the LMS is then averaging them together. I guess it doesn't know how to replace the old, non-passing score with the new, passing score. But I don't have that issue with content that comes from a place like Skillsoft. It replaces the content.
I agree with Phil. This is happening on the LMS side.
But... a long while back, Brian shared some unsupported advice on how you may be able to set up your quiz so that a score can only improve with subsequent attempts. Might be worth taking a peek at here in case it helps.
Ok, thanks guys. They were telling me that all I could do is have it do the multiple attempts which would put the failing AND the passing grade in the transcript.

This one is an LMS issue, I would go back to sumTotal all quizmaker does is pass the score, the LMS then handles the score

Good luck, Trey!
