Tracking quiz problems and doubts

I published a quiz as LMS with options that you can see in attachments. I uploaded it on moodle 1.9.x and let it open in the same browser window (this last one is a moodle parameter).

Some users arrive on result slide and think that quiz is finished, so they do not click "Finish button".

Just for my understanding the track informations will be cached and passed to Scorm platform only when clicking on Finish button?

Sometimes it is not sufficient to click "Finish button", as I noticed that only if message "Your session has ended. You can close the window" the quiz is really tracked.  As this message as a little delay and some users even do not wait until it would be displayed, could someone suggest me the best way to manage all this story. (I know it should be to educate users... )

I have other two silly questions:

1. If I set 80% as Passing Score in Quiz Properties and in the scorm 75%. Which one is working?

2. For moodle 1.9.x and scorm package is publishing parameter for quiz "Report status to LMS as: Passed/Incomplete" correct?

Good Morning, Silvia.

Let me try to tackle each of your questions:

  1. Quizmaker '09 communicates course completion to an LMS (LMSCommit) when the user closes the web browser.  Clicking the Finish button should not be necessary.
  2. I am not aware of a way to set the Passing Score within Presenter's Reporting and Tracking Options to a different value than the Passing Score within Quizmaker's Quiz Properties.  Can you please provide screenshots or a Screenr screencast to demonstrate how you've accomplished this?
  3. I'm not sure which completion setting Moodle prefers.  Perhaps a Moodle expert in our community can weigh in on this.

Hi Justin,

thanks for your answer and sorry for my delay in answering you.

About question 1 (I use your order now) I am wordless, as I uploaded the quiz on our Platform and let it test from more than 10 colleagues. Only the ones that clicked on Finish button have their test traced. I did not test the quiz when opening in a new window (at the moment is setted in my LMS to open in same window).

One more info: I just checked and noticed that I do not have last update of quizmaker. My version is v3.3.1103.112 (so I can understand why we had so many problems with IE 10!!).

For question no. 2 sorry my mistake it was a silly question (I was referring to the difference betweeb track parameter in quizmaker tool and track paramenter in LMS Platform).

Let's hope somebody will answer to my last question about completion setting.

Hello again, Silvia.

In order to isolate whether the missing results are being caused by a problem with your LMS or with your Quizmaker content, I would recommend testing your content in SCORM Cloud, which is an industry-standard tool for testing SCORM output.

If the problem persists in SCORM Cloud, please send us your .quiz file so that we can help determine what is causing the problem.

If the problem only exists within your LMS, I would recommend enabling LMS Debug Mode and providing the resulting Debug Log to your LMS Administrator for further troubleshooting.
