Unable to Print/Email Results

Jan 10, 2012

I am unable to Print results in quizmaker at the end of a module. After I click on "Print Results" it asks for name, and then a new window pops up saying "Date/Time"....not the actual date and time, but literally the words "date/time" and nothing else on the screen.

Also, when I click on email results, it warns me that submiting this email will reveal your email address to the recepient, and will send the form data without encrypting it for privacy, you can click ok to continue. After I click ok, the screen briefly blinks and nothing happens.

How can I fix these problems?

Hi Puja,

Are you using Internet Explorer 8, by any chance? The Print Results option at the end of a Quizmaker ‘09 quiz may display only the Date/Time header without the quiz details when using Internet Explorer 8. Please review the following article for more information and a work around:

And do you know for sure that the email is not sending? How many questions does your quiz contain? There is a known issue where the email results feature in Quizmaker '09 does not work if a quiz contains 13 or more questions.  Depending on the browser you are using, you may experience a blank email, or an error may occur.  Our Quality Assurance team is investigating this issue.  In the meantime, the only workarounds are to reduce the number of questions in the quiz to 12 (or fewer) or to disable the email results feature.
Hope that's helpful!

Peter,

Thank you for your quick response.

The print outs are still not working. I may have my other coworkers try these out, to make sure its not just me doing something wrong.

As for the quiz, i know its not sending the results because I checked the inbox where emails should be coming. And I have 10 questions in the quiz.

I may have to think of other alternatives. I appreciate your help.

Thanks!

Jody,

I was having this problem, but I am not sure how, it kind of sorted itself out.

I published the course and uploaded it on our LMS; then I took the course as a student from the company website. To my surprise, at the end of the course I WAS able to print the results. I still couldn't email them, but when I clicked on the print options, it printed out everything.

So may be you could try that. Hope it works out for you.

Hi Jody, and welcome to Heroes!

Because the ability to print and email results can vary based on your system settings, security, and other factors, I'd recommend submitting a case to our support engineers describing in as much detail as possible exactly what issues you are facing, including any error messages or screenshots you think may be helpful. You can do that here:

http://upload.articulate.com/

Thanks!

Hi Ana!

It sounds like it probably has to do with tighter security restrictions in Internet Explorer. Have you had a chance to configure those settings differently to allow emailed results? In general, for more reliable and secure tracking of quiz results across a majority of platforms, Articulate recommends implementing a SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, or AICC compliant Learning Management System or Articulate Online.  Feel free to test drive a 30 day free trial of Articulate Online

Hi Peter,

The course is in our LMS. This is a "what would you do?" initial survey in the course.

I would like to receive the participants responses for tutoring purposes and the email is more practical...

With IE it opens a news email with the address but it doesn't show the results. For what I reed in other forums it looks like there isn't a workaround this issue. Is that correct?

Please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:

Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help

Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Articulate Support - Upload Your Files for Review

Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09, which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so I can follow up with you personally in the forums. And feel free to come back and leave your case number here so I can keep a close eye on it. Thanks!

The same thing happened to me...

If you publish a QuizMaker quiz (or an Articulate Presenter course containing a quiz) - using the Publish for LMS option,

then the Print Results option only works when you actually run the quiz/course using an LMS.

If you want to try it out before uploading to your LMS (launching player.html or quiz.html instead of index_lms.html) , the only thing you get in your report is the Date/time headline.

If you Publish for Web instead, then the Print results feature seems to work all right.

(but that version won't work with the LMS, of course)

My turn for the "same" problem...?

I've got one quiz and two surveys embedded in a PPT. I need the survey results e-mailed to me, but in testing, the email button only works "sometimes."  It works for me with the latest Chrome and Outlook 2010 with default security settings. My co-workers? Completely inconsistent. I'm collecting information on which browsers/e-mail clients they're using, but does anyone have a guess as to what settings I should check?

This training product is scheduled to roll out to the public by the end of March, so I need a solution, pronto!

Welcome to Heroes, Hendy

Quizmaker is designed primarily as an elearning development tool to be used in conjunction with Articulate Online or your own Learning Management System (LMS).  You can track and report quiz and survey results via stand-alone Quizmaker quizzes or those embedded in Articulate Presenter using a number of methods.

For the best results and most accurate reporting, we recommend Articulate Online.

You can sign up for a free 30-day trial of Articulate Online here.

Your own SCORM- or AICC-compliant Learning Management System (LMS) will also provide accurate tracking capabilities.  Here are some open-source options for tracking quiz results:

   *  Moodle:  http://www.mozealous.com/upload-and-track-a-quizmaker-09-quiz-in-moodle/

As far as emailing results, although email is not intended as a robust tracking mechanism, Quizmaker does provide an option for emailing results.  Upon completion of a quiz, the user can choose to email the results to a designated email address.  The results are sent in raw text format in the body of an email (raw text is the most flexible and universal data format).  The recipient can then copy and paste the comma-separated output from the email into a text file and open it via Excel.  After importing into Excel, you can select a "Table" format to organize the data into columns for better analysis.

Hoever, due to web browser, Flash Player, and email security issues, this method may not always work as expected.  We suggest that you thoroughly test this method in your environment to see if it meets your needs.  For more information, please review this article.

Hi Barbara,

Can you give us a little more information about what's happening, please?

You mentioned this works fine in Firefox, but not Internet Explorer 9. How are you viewing the course when you try? Is the quiz uploaded to a web server, LMS, etc?

Try to make sure you're not trying to test this feature when viewing locally published content. If you view a published Studio '09 presentation on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.

To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the article below for more information:

Publishing and sharing Studio '09 content

If that doesn't help, can you tell me what happens when you try to email the quiz results through Internet Explorer? Do you receive an error message? Do you know if the pop-up blocker is enabled in the browser?

Thanks!
