Unable to save "Provide feedback for graded questions by default"

Quizmaker '13:

I am trying to set up a .quiztemplate file to create future quizzes. I uncheck the box for "Provide feedback for graded questions by default" as I don't want any questions to have feedback, and save. However when the template is relaunched, or a new .quiz created from it, the box is checked again. How do I get QM to save my preferences for this?

Hi Louise,

Correct - when you save a template, it doesn't save the settings at that level of the quiz.

What I recommend is creating a "Master Quiz", or so I like to call it, to create your quizzes with specific settings. I actually prefer this over templates, even if I'm sharing.

What I normally do is create the quiz, design it and set all the settings I prefer to use. Then save it. Each time I go to make a new quiz, I open that file then immediately use the "Save As" feature and rename the quiz for my new project. Now I can add content and I know everything's the same as the original quiz I created.

In my opinion, it's a little bit faster to do this in the end and you don't have to go back and check the settings.

I hope that helps!

Hi Louise,

Templates are really intended for sharing design elements of a quiz. Mainly your layouts, colors, etc., will come through with these.

I'm afraid I don't have a list of specific settings that don't carry over, but I would say that the majority of them are going to be related to functionality settings, versus design options and settings.

If there's any specific options you're curious about, just let me know and I can try my best to let you know if it's included :)

Thanks!
