Using User Answers as Labels

One thing I tried to do in adobe captivate was to capture user input on on slide, storing the input as variables and then subsequently use those variables as labels for elements on another slide.
For example a question asks a user what the 5 words that represent your most frequent problems with process X?
Then there are 5 text boxes for them to record answers.
On the next slide they are asked to sequence the five issues (the five hey gave on the prior slide) in order of importance to them.
In captivate the name of the variable, as in $variable$, is used as a label rather than the user entered content of the variable.
I'm wondering if I could achieve what I wanted with either Storyline or Quizmaker?

Hi Toby,
You could do it in Storyline using the variable reference - as it'll reference whatever you have told it to store there (based on user entry or other triggers). You can read more about how to use variable references here.
Hi Ashley - that looks exactly like the functionality I wanted. Is this only available in storyline or is it common to quizmaker too?
Thanks.
Quizmaker doesn't have the variable references ability or triggers to adjust it - so it'll have to be in Storyline.
