Variable to show 2nd attempt in LMS?

The LMS my company uses only reports the last attempt of a test.  If a learner fails the first attempt and fails or passes the 2nd attempt, the LMS report only shows the 2nd attempt score.  So, we don't know if that score is actually the first attempt or second attempt.

Is it possible, through the use of variables, to recognize if a learner failed the first attempt and send the LMS a different quiz name on a 2nd attempt?  Example, the test is named "Trust Assessment", but if failed, QM recognizes the 2nd attempt and then submits to the LMS as "Trust Assessment 2".

I hope I didn't confuse too much.
