Why quiz file size can be huge?
Oct 30, 2011
Hello,
I've built some quiz and I used them to create new ones.
I noticed the files created from them became huge.
The problem is that in this case, Presenter doesn't want to insert these quiz.
The only solution I found was to create a brand new quiz from scratch and to import all the question from my"huge quiz". And so my new quiz had a normal size (I mean: I pass from 53 000 Mb to 5 000 Mb) !!!
Both quiz has exactly the same contents (including audio, image, video).
Do you have an explanation? Could I "compress" my huge file someway?
Thanks a lot for your answer.
....And thank you for this great community with "plenty" of help and ressources....
Michèle.

Michele,
Video and audio can swallow up a whole lot of space. You can definitely compress the quiz a bit but you're probably going to have to work on the videos themselves a bit as well so that you can get the quality that you need.
Thanks Robert for your good advices.
But I still don't understand why 2 files (the old and the new one made from scratch) with exactly the same contents have so different sizes?
Did you make any changes to the audio files? For example did you use mp3 instead of WAV this time? THat is the only reason I can think of why it would be 10% of what it was originally. Or audio is missing somehow.
No Roberts, I didn't change anything between the two files: I just create a new one and import all the questions from the big file.
It's not the first time I met that situation : I mean as soon as I see a big file I create a new file, import all the questions, save it.... and the size of the new file reduces.....
Really I can't explain this...
Hi Michele,
Have you tried publishing your big quiz to the Web & then exiting Quizmaker? Does that reduce the file size as expected?
