Windows 8 and Flash?

Dec 05, 2012

I recently received the information below from a technical support person - your thinking on this and is he correct in his assessment?

There's two versions of IE10 in Windows 8.  You need to install Flash from the Adobe website for the desktop version of IE10, for the Metro version of IE10 you need to run Windows Update to ensure you're fully up-to-date but then it only works with "white-listed" sites for security.

Flash is a dying thing, it originally wasn't going to be supported in the Metro version at all.  Apple is also trying to kill it and it's even dying on Google Android devices.

As an alternative you can install Google Chrome which has built in flash or use Mozilla Firefox and download the Flash Plug-in for it.
