Is there a way to remove the black space around an image.
I inserted a video that takes up the window space and the image only takes up about 70 to 80 percent of the window space which leaves black bars on the side. Is there a function in replay that I am missing where the background can be changed to white.
There isn't a feature to change the background color, so you may want to look at modifying the image to include some white space on the sides to account for that when inserted into Replay.
Hi, I am experiencing a similar issue with some black space on the edge of my replay file. I see that when I add an image or add recording, the image size and video recording window is not encompassing the entire Replay screen, thus the black shows on edges. In other tools, this can be remedied by making sure a standard consistent size is used throughout all media. How can it be controlled in Replay which seems to be limited in that functionality?
What is the standard size that images and recording windows should be?
Replay will adjust it's size based on the video clips you're using, as you can see described here:
Your Replay project will automatically adjust to accommodate your video clips. It'll be as wide as your widest video and as tall as your tallest video. Video clips and images that are smaller than these dimensions will be centered on the stage and scaled up.
For example, let's say you add two video clips to a Replay project. One is 1,920 x 1,080. The other is 1,280 x 720. Replay will publish an MP4 file that is 1,920 x 1,080 (matching your largest video clip), and the smaller of your video clips will be scaled up to 1,920 x 1,080.
Since scaling can lower the quality of your published output, we recommend using video clips with the same dimensions.
As for a standard size, you'll also want to take into account the size of the screen of your viewers and that may vary if they are on a number of different devices, as the dimensions of your published product will match the video sizes used too.
There really isn't a standard size that images and recording windows should be, since your Replay project will automatically adjust to accommodate your video clips. It'll be as wide as your widest video and as tall as your tallest video. Video clips and images that are smaller than these dimensions will be centered on the stage and scaled up.
To avoid seeing black edges around video clips and images, I recommend resizing those media files prior to importing them into Replay.
