Audio narration is mono in Replay but stereo in Storyline

Hi All!
OK so this is a weirdy! Recording a software demo in Replay then adding chunks of narration afterwards using the 'Audio --> Record Mic' option. The sound is mono regardless of whether I playback in Preview mode or publish the project.
I read the attached article which made me think this was a technical issue with my computer but No! My audio recordings work fine in Storyline - they record in stereo!
Before you ask - yes I have restarted my machine numerous times!
The fact it works OK in Storyline but not Replay is driving me nuts!
For info I am using a Rode NT1-A Condenser mic with Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface - so not exactly cheap kit either!
If anyone can shed any light on this I will be eternally grateful :-)
