Capturing audio in Replay from Storyline2 output using a WIndows 10 PC and Headset

Nov 24, 2016

I need to produce the output of Storyline as an MP4 video so am trying to use Replay.  I can capture the visuals but not the audio.  I can hear the audio thru my headset but it is not recorded along with the visuals.  Any thoughts on the sound options I should use?

It is not a problem with the recording device as such. I want to capture the visuals and audio from a published Storyline2 project to convert it to a MP4 file. Ic an capture the visuals but when the Storyline2 project is running the audio is being played either through my headphones or through the laptop speakers but it is not being captured by Replay. I have tried changing the recording options (I have Headset Microphone, microphone or Stereo Mix options) but none of them work. So far the only option I can see is record the visuals and manually add back in the sound files. Is there another way?

Ahh I see, thanks for clarifying that. Dave asked a similar question in this thread, and a few ideas were given from the community. Folks have found this response from Steve Flowers especially helpful:

1) Right click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Recording Devices.

2) Right click the empty space in the list of devices and select Show Disabled Devices.

3) A new item (if it wasn't already visible) should appear called Stereo Mix. Right click this and select Enable.

Now make sure you have an audio recording tool installed. Audacity should do the trick.

1) In your audio recording tool's settings (Preferences in Audacity) select your recording device input. Pick Stereo Mix.

2) Click the record button in Audacity, then play the file on the PC that you want to record from.

3) Stop the recording when you're done and edit to taste.

4) Export as the audio format of your choice.
