MP4 Video Conversion compatible with eLearning Systems

Feb 16, 2018

Hi Everyone!

What is the best way to take an existing video and convert it into the correct format to upload into an LMS?  I have tried several times in replay, but I am not getting results.  Looking for the best way to do this- not sure if I am even using the right program.

Thanks!

Hi, Alyssa,

Yes, it is!  It a safety video produced by our corporate tech team.  Rather than setting up a link to a local server, I would like to have the video itself be the course without any other content.  Is that possible?  I will play around in the meantime to find out. I want it to just be a clean cut to the video.  Does that make sense?

Ok. I have it on auto play and have uploaded it into our LMS and it plays on repeat. How do I fix this so it stops once done. I also was trying to find play buttons to add, didn’t see them. Would I have to create them. I am obviously very new to these programs so thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks,
SP

Hi Simona!

You can add video controls below the video using the Video Tools Options tab.

Really strange that the video would repeat once it's done playing. Do you mind if I take a closer look at your file to nail down why it's doing that?

You can click here and add the file in a new thread comment. Look for the Add Attachment button.

Hi Alyssa,

thanks for this screenshot.  when i open up my project, i do not see the options tab!  maybe this is part of the problem?  Attached as requested in ZIP format.

UPDATE- I found that tab once I hit the video in the slide, so i do have it.  Now that i can see the video controls, it looks like this video was copied twice so it is in one long stream.  This may be the problem.  It's almost 5 pm here on the east coast, so I will look into it further tomorrow.  have a great afternoon/evening!
