Record video to audio

Apr 16, 2020

I have audio mp3 form 3rd party, and I imported it into Replay. Now I would like to record a video, following along with the audio - I need to hear the audio as I record. However, when I record the screen, the imported audio does not play simultaneously. Please advise.

Hi Gerhard,

Thanks for contacting us and sharing what you would like to create with your project.

Typically, you would record your screen actions first. This would allow you to record yourself as the narrator during or after. Once you have the video track, you'll see the playhead on your video track moves when recording narration so that you can synchronize your narration to the screen recording.

I look forward to hearing how others in the community may have accomplished this setup and order as well.

I think you misunderstood me or else I didn't exain well enough. My video
and audio channels are separated from the get go because e I receive the
audio as files narrated by someone else. I want to sync narration with
screen capture, but need to hear the narration within Replay while I record
the screen.TThe problem is when I record the screen, even after having
imported the audio channel successfully, there is only silence.

Hi Gerhard, I think what you propose to do won't work; I don't think Replay can play and record at the same time.

I think the solution is to set up Replay to record whatever video you choose, and to play the MP3 audio file in a different application, like Windows Media Player. You may be able to both listen and record, although depending on your sound card setup, there might be a conflict. Playing the MP3 audio on a separate device would cure that.

So, listening to the audio, you record your video. Once finished, save the video portion, and add the audio track to it. The only adjustment you would have to make is setting the starting points for both audio and video to begin in sync.

I hope this helps!

Thanks Dave - it is exactly what I did in the end. I listened to the track
on my phone while following along screen capturing on the pc.

I thought it should have been possible because I was able to do it in
another application (Screencastomatic Pro) which allows you to import audio
narration and then record video over it. This is a feature alert,
