I'm having a really difficult time getting Replay to insert a fade transition when the media items are very short. I even have items that I have successfully applied a fade transition to suddenly revert to a sudden transition (diagonal to vertical line). Is anyone aware of what the minimum length is for an item before it will "take" a fade transition?

There isn't a minimum duration for an item needed to apply a fade transition. Sorry that feature is giving you trouble! I'm happy to lend a hand.

Is there a maximum? I can't get any of the clips in one of my videos to fade together.

There is an overall maximum for Replay with screen recordings capping out at 2 hours. How long are your video clips?
