Replay Screen Record function not working properly

I have installed Replay on two of my computers (of the same manufacturer and model).  When I try to record a screencast, I am able to choose the dimensions for recording, but the recording seems to be taken outside of the chosen box and at a higher magnification.

Can this be troubleshooted?

Hi Aimi and Bryan, 

Does this only happen with screen recording in Replay and not within Storyline? I know a few users have had difficulty recording at full screen or on high resolution monitors and seen some odd behavior - does that match the scenario you have? Are you able to share a .replay file that would demonstrate this issue? Are the computers synced together for a dual monitor set up - or just able to replicate the behavior on both? Can you tell us more about the set up in terms of operating system, what you're recording, etc.?

The problem was not replicated in Storyline.  The two computers I am using are NEC LaVie, Windows OS.  Computes are not synced in any way or attached to a monitor.

I tried recording the entire screen, but you can see that the screen shot is magnified and capturing only the upper left corner.

Thank you for your troubleshooting efforts.  If I can get this to work right, I want to start creating some screencasts right away!

Hi Bryan,

Thanks for the Replay file - I can see what you're describing here. When you're conducting the screen recording, you can see it's only capturing the top left corner or it's only after the capture is completed that you see this? Have you checked to confirm you're using a DPI setting of 96 as described here. 

What Windows version are you using? What is your overall screen resolution and size? You mentioned a Japanese Windows set up, have you tried changing it to English?

I am having the same issue. When I am recording, it shows the selected area as recording but the output shows outside selected area on the top and left omitting the right and bottom area. 

I am using windows 10 version 1607 (OS Build 14393.953) 
Full resolution of my current screen is 1920 X 1080

Should you require any other details, please let me know.

Hi Surya,

This forum discussion is a bit older, so I'm not sure if you're using the same Replay version/update as detailed here but we'd want to have you check that (Go to the Help tab and click on About Articulate Replay). 

If you're not on the latest update, I'd suggest downloading and installing that to test a new Replay file and if you're still having difficulty can you share a copy of the .replay file with our team to take a look at?

Hi,

After I used screen recording in Replay today I ended the Screen recording and it does insert the Video into Replay. The Problem: It does only show a black screen. That happened already many times.

The whole screen Cast was around 1 hour. I have attached a .reply file with only a part of the original file.
