I am a fairly advanced Storyline user but I wanted to step up my screen cast videos so I downloaded Replay. I cannot figure out how to use the Zoom function. In that, I know where it is located, I know to use the mouse roller to set the 'start' of the zoom but I cannot figure out how to set it to 'zoom back out'? I have spent quite a bit on time on here an other online resources but can't find something to cover that. Turning to the community of Hero's to find some help! :-)
Do you need to zoom in on the timeline in Replay, or do you need to zoom in on the video itself? Zooming the timeline is covered in this article. Also from the user guide is an article on mixing videos, if perhaps managing the transition from one video to another is where you're getting stuck.
You won't be able to zoom in on videos in Replay. Are you incorporating the video into a Storyline project? If so, you could use the zoom region tool in Storyline.
I'm just learning Replay 360 and I'm creating a short training video that includes audio, some still images, and some screen recordings. I'd like to (1) show an image, (2) zoom in on a portion of that image, and then (3) zoom out to show a third (different) image. Is there a way to do this? I can't seem to find any instruction on how. Thanks!
Since you've got Articulate 360, have you considered using Storyline to build this training? With Storyline, you'll be able to import audio, images, and screen recordings. On top of that, you'll also have the ability to add a zoom region.
How do you plan to deliver the training after it's complete? If you can give me some more information, I can point you in the right direction!
The end product needs to be a simple video file, which isn't what you get with Storyline (I've been using SL for several years now). So far, Replay seems pretty useful, but probably not full-featured enough perhaps?
Ah, I see. Could you create the image zoom portion in Storyline, publish it, then record the published output using Replay?
Sounds like a zoom feature in Replay 360 would make life a lot easier for you. I'd be happy to pass that idea along to the team! And in case you're interested, here's how we manage all of the great ideas we receive in the community. 🙂
I suppose that would work. Thanks, Alyssa. Currently, someone else in my organization is creating these short training videos using Camtasia, which is actually a really good tool for this type of thing (we don't need the webcam part that Replay offers). Just takes a significant amount of time. I'm thinking we need to stick with that tool for now since it offers lots more features than Replay. But, I like Replay for the simpler projects!
I am new to Articulate 360. I have started building a Storyline session and have imported a Replay video. I cannot figure out how to zoom in on regions in the video. Is this possible? I can do it on a static, screenshot slide which was described in the zoom region suggestion above. Can you lead me in the right direction please?
Thanks for checking in on this! The zoom feature of Storyline is specific to images as Alyssa mentioned earlier and we have yet to implement a zoom feature into Replay videos, although it's a great idea!
