Want to record an e-Learning java course - video and audio in Replay to play on our LMS

Jan 03, 2019

We currently have several courses that were created in Skillsoft's authoring tool Dialogue.  Since I have no idea how to disassemble this course and create a new one in Articulate, I would like to play and course and record it (audio and video) with Replay to place in Articulate to play in our LMS.  Is this something that I can do?

Hi Kathy,

It sounds like it would be a lot of work to redo your entire courses, but if you're hoping to have a user continue to interact with pieces of the course and elements that were in the original Skillsoft course you'd need to rebuild it within Storyline or Studio.

If you're using Replay, that'll capture a video that'll publish as an MP4. Depending on your LMS, there may be an option to upload that into your LMS. If you've uploaded that video to Review (part of Articulate 360) or have recorded it with Peek, you can export it directly from Articulate Review as an LMS package. Just click the ellipsis (...) in the upper right corner of the screen and choose Export to LMS.

Let us know if you need anything else!

Hi Kathy.  No, Replay will strictly create an .mp4 that will play as a single video.

You could, however, record smaller segments, and insert those videos into Storyline on slides.  The player menu will allow your learners to click on "chapters" (slides, actually) to view each video!  Here are some tips for adding high quality videos in Storyline.
