Why is my published video black/blank?
Feb 10, 2014
I created a brief 38 second video in Replay. I published it and when I view the video I have 38 seconds of black screen. I have tried every troubleshooting measure recommended in the forums from uninstalling/reinstalling Replay, repairing Replay, confirming DirectX is installed and enabled, verifying that MS .NET Framework 3.5 is installed and active, publishing both local and on a network drive, to finally just rebooting.
All for naught.
I have submitted a support request (Case Number: 00384053), but am hoping maybe there is something else I can try in the interim that I have not yet seen or tried.
Suggestions?

These videos were recorded using another screencast software, and one imports fine into replay, but when it publishes, I do not get video, only audio. I know this video was not recorded at full screen. I cannot submit the videos because they have proprietary data.
Sorry I misunderstood Courtney and I thought you could share privately. Our team can sign an NDA if needed. If it's just this one video, I'd look into using a tool such as Handbrake or similar to convert it to an MP4 and then insert in case it's an issue with different codecs or similar. Without seeing the video it's difficult to say what else could be causing the situation.
Hi all,
I wanted to share an update here that Replay Update 3 has been released and includes a fix for the issue with recording at full screen and having the published output only include audio. You can view the release notes and download the update here. For any previous courses impacted you'll need to publish these using the latest update to have the changes take effect.
I am having this same issue. My screen is is recording black.
