Inserting Video by David Fair

Sep 29, 2017

In David Fair's discussion regarding Inserting a Video, I got to this step:

- Show video: Decide whether you want the video to appear in the slide or in a separate browser window.

I set the browser settings to Display at users current browser size; Launch player in new window; Allow user to resize browser.  I package it and when the video slide comes up it has the icon to allow the user to maximize the new browser window grayed out.  How do I set the settings so that the user can maximize the browser window?

Hey Pamela!

Thanks so much for reaching out here. I did a quick test and I'm able to maximize the video window following those settings you described.

To get to the bottom of what's happening on your end, I have a few questions to start out with:

  1. Just to verify- Is this happening when you're viewing your course in Articulate Review? Or are you uploading the published output elsewhere when testing?
  2. What browser are you using?
  3. Can you share a copy of your .story project file here so I can take a look? You can include it in a comment by using the Add Attachment feature like this:

Keep me posted! 🙂

I am publishing to LMS.  There are 5 videos total in this CBT.  The first two are MP4 files which open in a new window and are large enough but still do not allow the user to resize.  The other three files are wmv and they do not open as large as the others and again do not allow the user to resize.  When I try to view in Preview It tells me that that function is not available in Preview...to open in a new window.  I am using IE.

This is a PPT someone asked me to publish and put on our LMS.  This is done in Presenter.

Thank you in advance for any help!!
