2 triggers for 1 event... not working

Hello forum.

I have project that has 3 layers for every slide... the base layer then a "correct" and a "false" layer (shows different stuff depending on what you choose on the base layer). So on the base, you click a checkbox and if it's the right one, you go to the "correct" layer. For that same click, I also want to use Convert to Freeform |Pick One so that the click can be graded as either correct or false. This works and the score shows on the results slide, however now the "correct" layer never shows. 

So it should work like this:  click the checkbox, "correct" shows AND the click gets graded.

I tried moving the order of the triggers bu it made no difference. I haven't published, only looking in preview... thoughts? Similar experiences?
